The Bumfy Process:

From Bamboo to the Bathroom

Bamboo's Hometown

The story of Bumfy bamboo toilet paper begins in China, where vast, lush bamboo forests flourish. This region is a natural paradise for bamboo, offering the fastest-growing shoots, ready for harvest in just months.

We produce our products locally, which allows us to access high-quality bamboo and benefit from the knowledge and skills of experienced local artisans. Keeping the entire production process within the community reduces our carbon footprint and ensures that every Bumfy roll is genuinely eco-friendly.

At Bumfy, we are committed to harvesting bamboo from panda-free areas to preserve their natural habitats.

Harvesting at the Right Time

Harvesting bamboo requires perfect timing.

We wait for the bamboo to indicate that it's ready for harvesting. The best part about harvesting mature shoots is that most of the CO2 captured by the bamboo stays underground in its robust root system.

This differs from trees, as cutting them releases much of the stored carbon.

By using bamboo, which retains most of the carbon underground, Bumfy ensures a greener, cleaner planet.

We are committed to sustainability at every stage of the process, and responsible harvesting is just one of the ways we embrace it.

Crafting the Perfect Pulp

Crafting the plush bamboo rolls that you love starts with the process of creating the perfect pulp. Bumfy's process is a testament to the collaboration between nature and innovation.

We keep the use of chemicals to a bare minimum, ensuring that everything that comes in contact with your skin is pure, as nature intended. Our rolls are free of inks, dyes and artificial scents.

With Bumfy, every sheet is a promise of sustainability and softness.

The Roll

When the pulp is ready, machines take over the process, creating huge sheets of toilet paper - more than four yards wide. These sheets are then wound onto rolls, creating a massive four-yard-long toilet paper roll. After quality control, machines cut the rolls using a large knife.

Each roll measures 4.73 inches wide, much wider than a standard roll of paper. Once the rolls are ready, machines pack them in paper wrappers made of bamboo, and factory workers place them in a cardboard box and seal them with paper tape.

Our production process eliminates plastic, so we're not only saving forests, but also lakes, rivers, and seas.

Nature-Friendly Every Step of the Way

At Bumfy, we take our commitment to the environment seriously. Our efforts continue after production ends. Every roll is carefully wrapped in bamboo paper, which is both biodegradable and compostable, ensuring that our products return to nature.

Our carton boxes, which are solid and durable, provide a cozy home for our TP. We seal them with paper tape, which is gentle on the environment and eliminates the use of plastic.

We are proud to say that our packaging is 100% plastic-free, in line with our promise to be a nature-friendly brand from start to finish. At Bumfy, we believe small changes can make a big difference in protecting our planet.
